Stay With Us

There is no time more difficult than when your child is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness or injury. Our two houses — one in Washington DC and one in Northern Virginia — are here to help with open doors.

Eligibility

To stay at Ronald McDonald House Washington DC, you must have a family member being treated who is 21 or younger or be pregnant with an infant who is expected to require immediate medical intervention following birth.

Who Can Stay With Us

Families of children in active treatment are welcome to stay with us. To make the process as smooth as possible, referrals are made through hospital social workers, who coordinate directly with our team. Guest rooms can accommodate up to four individuals.

How to Request a Room

To request a stay, families begin with a referral from their hospital care team. Once we receive the referral, our staff will follow up with next steps, including a brief online background check. After that’s complete, we’ll connect with you to review room availability and answer any questions.

Learn more about the process on our Referral Partners webpage

Please note that room availability can vary, and we’ll do our best to support your family based on current space.
