Walk, run, fundraise or bring a team to Red Shoe 5k — a fun, high-energy way to help families stay close when they need it most.
Our individual volunteers are an essential part of the care and comfort families feel at our Houses. They show up consistently, help keep daily life moving, and make our spaces feel more welcoming.
Volunteers serve on a weekly or monthly schedule, typically in three-hour shifts, and must commit to at least one year of service.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Any volunteers under 18 must volunteer with a parent or legal guardian for all shifts.

The Leadership Council provides expertise in a variety of fields and supports the mission through fundraising, advocacy, and service on Ronald McDonald House Washington DC events and board committees.
