A simple welcome can make a meaningful difference

When families arrive at Ronald McDonald House, they are often carrying far more than luggage.

Many are navigating a child’s medical crisis, traveling far from home and adjusting to an uncertain new reality.

A simple welcome can make a meaningful difference.

Care kits created with compassion

As part of the AbbVie Foundation’s Week of Possibilities, AbbVie employees came together to assemble and personalize care kits for families staying at Ronald McDonald House Washington DC.

Volunteers decorated tote bags, packed essential items and added thoughtful touches designed to help families feel welcomed and supported from the moment they arrive.

The completed kits will be distributed to families staying at both the Washington DC and Northern Virginia Houses.

More than the items inside

At Ronald McDonald House Washington DC, care extends beyond providing a place to stay.

Families need practical support, comfort and a sense of community while their child receives medical care.

The care kits created by AbbVie volunteers help meet those needs through everyday items that make families feel seen, valued and cared for.

Every bag represents something powerful: a reminder that families are not facing their journey alone.
